The intricate art of applying veneer has been practised since the time of the Egyptian Pharoahs. Since then production methods may have changed  but veneer is still widely sought after as a design material. Cutting methods can produce different visual effects, from the multi patterned grain marking of a rotary cut, to the series of stripes created when applying quarter cut veneers.
